The experience is absolutely amazing! From the friendly staff to the outstanding food!! Can’t say enough about the environment and the unique way they have been able to capture time in a bottle with their design of the establishment as well This place was number 1 on my list to take my mother in law who came to visit from Michigan and worked in the automotive industry for 40 years simply because of the unique design. The food was just a big bonus!! One of my favorite places in Florida. Most definitely my favorite hamburger joint!

This place has become our favorite spot for lunch in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Everything tastes fresh and they have lots of options. The staff is consistently friendly and you can tell they genuinely care about providing a great experience. I can’t tell you the last time I went to a fast food restaurant since Brake Burger opened up. Lake Wales is lucky to have a gem like this!

What an awesome place! I used to go to a filling station just like this with my grandfather when I was a kid, but instead of being hit with the smell of oil, gas, and cigars from the patrons of old...this station has the wonderful aroma of burgers, bacon, and onions!! They've captured the feel of yesteryear with a clean environment and delicious roadside eats.

Cute burger place in a refurbished garage/filling station. It is themed well, with car and gas station memorabilia decorating the walls. We went for Polk County Burger Week because they had a birria burger. It was delicious! We also got the garlic burger from the regular menu and a plain burger from the regular menu. Ever was delicious. A standout of the meal was the fried mushrooms, which came with a delicious horseradish ranch sauce. We would definitely get those again! The owner (?)/chef came by to check on us a few times, as did the woman who took out order at the counter. Great service, and worth the drive to Lake Wales.

Been driving by this place for many years gave it a shot. WORTH IT! We met the owner/ manager ( did not get his name) super helpful picking out the foods. We each got the Burgers of the Month (May) Fajita burger and Pimento Olive with the cheese gurds. Delicious. We paired with Classic bottle Coke and Root Beer. I am definitely going back.

Interesting concept. Old gas station converted to a burger shop. They use high quality ingredients in their burgers so it's a little bit more expensive than typical. That said, despite the beef being 100% Angus, the patty was bland, it could have been better seasoned to bring in more flavor. However, my wife loved her burger saying "one of the best burgers I've had in a while" so I don't want to dock a star when my palette could be wrong. Overall, a decent place to grab a burger but certainly not the best I've had, but my wife seems to think otherwise, and she's usually right.

The place wasn't very busy just before lunch, I was in and out. Had the ghost pepper tenders, they were delicious, but not as hot as I expected, the Nashville chicken sandwich was full of flavor and juicy, also not too hot. BuT! The fried mushrooms,, man! They were on point. The looks a bit dark, I thought they were over cooked. But not at all. They were perfect. A bit let down on the portion of fries tho. Prices are high for good food, I get that, but would like to see just a little more on the not so expensive food (fries). My portion was only a hand full, and for the price of the meal, would not hurt to get a bit more.. overall 5 stars it is. Food was great.

Brakes Burger Garage is a fantastic spot in Lake Wales! I had the Double Smash Burger with Waffle Fries, and it was excellent—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. My friend had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and he couldn’t stop talking about how great it was. The atmosphere really sets this place apart. It’s got an old-fashioned garage theme, which gives it a cool, unique vibe. The attention to detail in the decor makes the experience even better. If you’re in the area and craving a great burger, this place is a must-visit!
